Congratulations to Thirkiel Wedlow and Chelsea Wedlow. Thirkiel is a 2020 cum laude graduate from OSU-IT; he was a 2015 graduate of Allen High School. Chelsea, a 2017 graduate of AHS, earned the honor of being on the Honor Roll at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant. She will be entering her senior year at college this fall.

Deadline near for absentee voting

Voters in Pontotoc County who want to have absentee ballots mailed to them for the June 30 Primary Election should apply now. Although the County Election Board can accept applications for absentee ballots until 5 p.m. on, Tuesday, June 23 , voters who want to vote by absentee ballot need to apply early. At least two mail transactions must be made. The County Election Board must mail the ballots to the voter and the voter must return the voted ballots by mail. Ballots must be in the hands of County Election Board officials by 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.

AHS Commencement Saturday

The Corona Virus (COVID-19) changed a lot of things for the seniors of 2020 and delayed their commencement by a month, but 46 Mustangs will cross the stage this Saturday, June 13 , to receive their diplomas in a graduation ceremony in the new, air conditioned, gymnasium. The exercise will begin at 10:00 am. and only ticket holders will be allowed to attend.
