A large crowd gather Monday, Memorial Day, to honor Allen’s servicemen and women. The ceremony was held at 11:00 a.m. at the cemetery and this year’s speaker, Wayne Layell, did an outstanding job. 1st Sgt. Layell served in the U.S. Marine Corp, retiring in 1991 following 23 years of service for his country that included two tours in Vietnam.
