Former Mayor, Phil Milner Remembered, Honored

Twenty-six years after his passing in 1996, Bobbie Milner was awarded an American Flag for the military service of her husband, Phillip Thomas Milner. Phil served with the 45 Division of the National Guard in Korea during the early 1950s. The war raged from 1950 to 1953.

Allen Public School Receives $17,000 TSET Grant

Allen Public School was presented their $17,000 TSET Grant check just before the Christmas break. The money was used to upgrade the playground equipment at the Allen Elementary. “We are very appreciative for the TSET grant that we are using to promote exercise for our students,” said Superintendent Jeff Hiatt.

Our school has been hit with the latest surge of Covid. Tuesday we had 135 students and 16 staff members out sick. We have moved to distance learning and will return next Tuesday, on January 18 , to in-person learning.

Gladys Johnson

Services for Gladys Johnson, 73, of Ada, were 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 10 , at the Chickasaw Community Center, Rev. Randy Wade officiated. Burial followed at Steedman Cemetery. A wake was held Sunday, January 9 , from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel.
