Twenty-six years after his passing in 1996, Bobbie Milner was awarded an American Flag for the military service of her husband, Phillip Thomas Milner. Phil served with the 45 ^th Division of the National Guard in Korea during the early 1950s. The war raged from 1950 to 1953.

Phil returned home to serve his community as Allen’s mayor. He was a member of the Allen American Legion, the Allen Masonic Lodge #81, and was a Shriner.

The Milner brothers have a strong history of serving their country. All eleven sons of Jonas and Lilly Milner were soldiers in several different branches of service.
