Read moreThe Atwood School Reunion will be held Saturday, July 2 , from noon until 6:00 pm in the Lowell Wilkerson Community Building (next to the First Baptist Church) in Atwood. Their potluck dinner has been set for 4:30 pm, followed by a brief business meeting. All former students, teachers and residents are invited. Bring your favorite dish and enjoy the afternoon.

Men scoffed at this new day. “It’s just a trick to get people to spend money on yet another holiday,” said my dad. “Besides, we wind up having to pay for it ourselves anyway, so what’s the point.”

Frank and Jeri Starns have returned home following a New England visit with their son and family. The trip was made to Londonderry, New Hampshire to visit with Nick, Amy, Ethan and Bella. Their trip included attending a June 4 concert in Gilford, New Hampshire by Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band; then on June 7 they attended a Paul McCartney concert at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts.
