Larry Doil Sanders, now 55, will be sentenced June 18th after being found guilty of first degree murder with malice aforethought in the strangulation and beating death of Jimmy Glenn Knighten in the summer of 2022; Knighten was 52. Sanders has repeatedly confessed to the crime.

Jeffery Pembrook of Holdenville competed in the 2024 United Houndsmen Association March Madness Youth Hunt on Saturday, April 13th, placing 3rd out of the 40 contestants. The hunt was held in Marietta. He is pictured with his dog, “Skunk River Rock”, which he got from County Commissioner Kelly Campbell, who is very helpful to the youth in this sport. Saturday’s win earned them over $1,000 in prizes and $600 cash.
