Services held for Rickey Frederick

Rickey Lon “Rick” Frederick, 73, of Edmond, was born on September 26, 1952, in Ada, Oklahoma, the son of Onno and Ruth Frederick. Rick grew up in Steedman, Oklahoma, and attended Allen High School and proudly graduated with the Class of 1970.
Rick pursued higher education with exceptional dedication. He earned a double major in Chemistry and Environmental Science from East Central University in Ada. He later continued his studies at the University of Oklahoma, where he obtained his degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1981.
On December 20, 1997, Rick married the love of his life, LaDawna Lynn Earp, in Moore, Oklahoma. Together they built a life filled with faith, devotion, and deep love. Rick was a faithful member of Southwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.
A true rancher at heart, Rick loved working with and raising cattle. He was the proud owner and operator of Frederick Ranch in Allen, Oklahoma, where he raised Black Angus and Hereford cattle. Professionally, Rick retired with EOG Resources in San Antonio, Texas, in 2022, ending a long career in the oil and gas industry.
Rick will be remembered as generous, detailed, honest, and hardworking. He had a kind, loving, and giving heart, paired with a quiet demeanor that spoke volumes. Dependable and loyal, he was devoted to his family and deeply committed to those he loved. An avid OU Sooners football fan, Rick and LaDawna traveled often to cheer on their team. They cherished vacations in Maui, Hawaii, and loved sharing meals at Cattlemen’s Steakhouse in Oklahoma City and Lupe Tortilla in San Antonio.
Above all, Rick was a man of faith whose first love was his Lord and Savior. His greatest joy came from spending time with LaDawna, his beloved wife of almost 28 years, as well as his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed beyond measure.
Rick is survived by his wife, LaDawna Frederick, of the home; daughter, Brandie Patton and husband, Del of Elgin, Oklahoma; son, Owen Frederick and wife, Kylie of Overland Park, Kansas; and five grandchildren: Austin Patton, Michael Patton, Emily Foster and husband, Josh, Ethan Frederick, and Eli Frederick. He was preceded in death by his parents, Onno and Ruth Frederick, and his brother, Owen Frederick.
A Private Family Visitation was held Tuesday November 25 at Southwest Baptist Church, Follow the service, Rick was laid to rest at. at Allen Cemetery in Allen, Oklahoma.
