Services Planned for Jewell Huffstutlar

Jewell Marie Huffstutlar, 82, of Holdenville, formerly of Canadian, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Heritage Village Nursing Center in Holdenville.

Jewell was born on September 30, 1937 in Lula, Oklahoma to Ransom Ross Tatum and Effi e (Levingston) Tatum. She graduated from Gerty High School.

Jewell and Leon Huffstutlar were married on January 25, 1958 in Holdenville. Jewell ran a Catholic retreat on Lake Texhoma and worked in restaurants at Allen and Crowder.

She was a loving wife to Leon and devoted mother to daughter Debra Kay and sons Keith, David and Chris. Lexy and David Jr. lived with their grandmother Jewell after their father David’s death in 2008.

Jewell enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing dominoes and pitch. She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves.

Jewell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon Huffstutlar, and son David Wayne Huffstutlar.

Survivors include her daughter, Debra Kay Patty; sons Keith (Amy) Huffstutlar and Chris (Tisha) Huffstutlar; seven grandchildren, Lisa Patty, Franklin (Laura) Patty, Joey Huffstutlar, Jason (Shirley) Huffstutlar, Jeffrey Huffstutlar, Lexy (Jameson Shadid) Huffstutlar, David (Morrison) Huffstutlar Jr., Kristen (Mitchell) Loudermilk, and Rylee Huffstutlar; nine great-grandchildren; sister Carolyn (Ruben) Huffstutlar; brothers, Sam (Linda) Tatum, Dub (Peggy) Tatum and Bill (Connie) Tatum.

Graveside services will be at Allen Cemetery in Allen, Oklahoma on Saturday, December 14th , at 11:00 a.m.
