Services held for Nancy Blaylock

Nancy Blaylock passed away at her home in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at the age of 66 years.

Nancy was the daughter of Arthur and Mildred

Jones, born on July 2, 1954, in Morristown, New Jersey. She was brought up and attended schools in Bernardsville, New Jersey, and was a graduate of Bernards High School. She moved back and forth for several years from New Jersey to Florida, and moved to Calvin, Oklahoma in 1982. She married Larry Blaylock on April 19, 1983, and has made her home in the Crossroads Community ever since. She worked more than 20 years for the U.S. Postal Service, as a carrier in Wetumka, Lamar, and Holdenville, retiring as Postmaster in Atwood.

Nancy loved horses, especially her favorite horse ever, “Cowboy”. She competed and won numerous awards and ribbons in equestrian events. In her younger days in New Jersey she enjoyed jumping horses, and in Calvin she was into barrel racing. She loved to fish. She enjoyed going to the casinos, and every time she did it seemed that Lady Luck was right there with her. She chaperoned every 4-H and FFA trip her kids went on, and attended nearly every ballgame, livestock show, or any other school event her grandkids were involved in. Her family was the joy of her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mildred Jones; and three brothers: Denny Jones, Bobby Jones, and Willie Jones.

She is survived by two children, son Jason Gerard (Heather) of Calvin, and daughter Michelle Nolen (Danny) of Holdenville; three grandchildren, Aliese Gerard and Reiley Gerard, both of Calvin, and Karson Nolen of Holdenville; her companion and best friend, Steve Bauman, of Calvin; her mother-in-law, Pauline Blaylock, of Holdenville; nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Graveside memorial services were held and Nancy was laid to rest at Crossroads Cemetery on Saturday, August 1 st , at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bart Patterson officiating.
