Services held for Carol Sue Pipkin

Carol Sue Pipkin passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, in Corsicana, Texas at the age of 90. She was born February 25, 1932 to Mabel and Tom Jacobs in Allen, Oklahoma. She was the older of two daughters. Her fa ther was a rough neck and ran a camp for Sun Ray DX Oil Company. Her mother was a stay at home housewife.

Sue attended school in Allen and graduated from Allen High School in 1950. She loved sports and was a star basketball player. She also became an accomplished bowler and golfer.

Sue married Jim Pipkin in 1952 and they had one son. The family spent their early years in Oklahoma. They moved to Corsicana, Texas from Tulsa in 1967. Sue was a stay at home mom and housewife until she went to work at Medical Arts Clinic in 1972. She spent 30 years there, first in the Ear, Nose and Throat Department and then in Convenient Care. She retired in 2002. She loved her time at Medical Arts.

Sue loved watching sports. Her favorite teams were the Cowboys, Mavericks, Rangers, the Oklahoma Sooners and the Corsicana Tigers. She had season tickets to the Tiger games for many years. She also loved playing cards, especially bridge. It was a real treat for her to spend her Saturday afternoons playing bridge at the country club with her special friends.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents Mabel and Tom Jacobs and her beloved younger sister, Mary Ann Jones. She is survived by her son, Steve Pipkin and wife Blanche; grandsons, Chad Wilson and wife Carrie, Dylan Wilson and wife Damarys; great grandchildren, Cooper Wilson, Camilla Wilson, Rafael Colon, Alex Colon and wife Cristal and great-greatgrandson, Rafael Colon.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the doctors that took such great care of Sue over the years and to Jordan Golden and his staff at Twilight Home for everything they did for Sue. A memorial service will be held for Sue on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 11 o’clock in the morning at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Corsicana.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sue’s name may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church.
