Service Slated for Joe Stephens

Services for Joe Stephens, 69, of Allen will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 22nd, at Allen High School Auditorium, Rev. Coy Howry will officiate. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery.

Joe passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at his home. He was born in McAlester on November 6, 1954 to Gene and Myrtle Stephens. He graduated from Allen High School in 1973. His favorite job was raising Brangus cattle and his favorite past time was spending time with his grandkids and walking around his favorite place, Boggy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Myrtle Stephens.

Survivors include his wife, Sarabeth; daughter, Kim Mowdy and her husband, Keith, of Allen; son, Brett Stephens and his wife, Kristi, of Gerty; granddaughters, Brandy Marshall and husband, Joshua, of Allen, and Kryslyn Stephens of Gerty; great-granddaughter, Ripley Marshall, and great-grandson, Asa Marshall, of Allen; brother, Bill Stephens and his wife, Bonnie, of Allen; sister, DeEtta Hughes and husband, Doug, of Overland Park, Kansas, and Jackie Stephens and wife, Pam, of Allen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins that he grew up with in Allen.

Bearers are Larry Colbert, David Baber, Carl Frederick, Shane White, Mark Ross, and Doug Peay. Honorary bearers are James Ogle, Christie Merriman, David Phillips, Tom Peay, Johnny Cozad, and Frankie Bell.
