Service held for Lovoyce Rushing

Lovoyce (Young) Rushing, age 95, a Coalgate resident, was born on June 1, 1926 to James Kelsey and Martha Mae (Holeman) Young, at Boiling Springs, Oklahoma. She passed away on June 9, 2021 at Coalgate, Oklahoma.

Lovoyce was a homemaker. She married Clarence Burl Rushing on June 20, 1953 at Atoka, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2010. She was a member of the Gerty Church of Gerty, Oklahoma. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing the guitar, fishing and singing in church.

She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Allen of Coalgate, Billie Jean Blaylock of Calvin, and Nancy Traylor and husband Ferlin of Allen; two sons, Doug Smith and wife Joy of Coalgate, and Tim Rushing and wife Janice of Calvin; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and many dear and loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Kelsey and Martha Mae (Holeman) Young; husband Clarence Burl Rushing; and six siblings.

Services were held Friday, June 11 th , 2:00 p.m. in the Brown’s Funeral Cchapel, Coalgare, with Rev. Aaron Finney officiating. Interment was in the Centrahoma Cemetery. Assisting as casket bearers were Nathan Traylor, Heath Traylor, Ron Roden, Paul Blaylock, Ronald Blaylock Jr, and Ray Wilson. Honorary bearers were Rick Eddings and Clay Young.

Services were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Home, Coalgate.
