Service held for Frank Jared

Services for Julius Franklin “Frank” Jared, Jr., 91, of Ada were 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 6th , at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Coy Howry offi ciated. Burial followed at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mr. Jared passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019, in Ada. He was born August 27, 1927, at the Conway Community, near Ada, to Julius Franklin Jared, Sr. and Dora Lowe Jared. He attended grade school at Conway and graduated from Byng High School.

Frank worked in the Pontotoc County Assessor’s office from 1953 until becoming the Pontotoc County Assessor in 1960. He retired in 1986.

He served on the Pontotoc County Free Fair Board, Big Five Board, Pontotoc County Democratic Party, and lifetime member of the Lovelady Baptist Church. He served as the Treasurer of the Happyland Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association. Herefords were his passion.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Jared of the home; daughter-in-law, Melodie Kappauf; and many nieces and nephews, as well as his chosen granddaughters, Raetchel Gray and Meleaia Gray.

He was preceded by his parents; his son, Ronnie Jared; sister, Glossye Isaacs; brother, William JD “Bill” Jared; sister, Lavonia Deaton; sister, Vivian Jared; brother, Keith H. “Pete” Jared; and sister, Margaret Melville.

Bearers were Claude Bess, Duane Gray, Billy Joe James, Ronnie James, Donnie James, Turk Barrett, and Bill Snyder.
