Service held for Agnes Jenkins

Agnes Ruth Jenkins, 93, of Holdenville, Oklahoma passed away on November 14, 2018 in Holdenville. She was born on July 27, 1925 in Appleton, Arkansas to William Wesley and Mattie Elizabeth (McNutt) Mathis.

She graduated from Atwood High School. Her activities included PTA, Sunday School teacher, Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, Pack Leader, and was active member of the Barnard Memorial Methodist Church. She loved to garden, loved the outdoors, sports, and OU football.

She married Dale Jenkins on March 13, 1938 who preceded her in death on May 19, 2000. Together they owned and operated the Smith Tire and Supply, Holdenville, for many years and were known for helping those in need.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents, William and Mattie Mathis; brothers, Mal Mathis, Lowell Mathis, Gus Mathis and Bill Mathis; and sisters Margaret Christopher, Lucille Reeves and Katheryn Green.

Survivors include son Dale Keith Jenkins Jr. and wife Robin of Holdenville, daughter Karen Goodman and husband Mike of Oklahoma City, son James Allan Jenkins and wife Sharon Kay of Shawnee, and daughter Jayne Ann Cox of Oklahoma City; brothers-in-law Lavoy Green of Tuttle, and Gerald Jenkins of Dallas, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral service was 10:00 am Friday, November 16th , at the Barnard Methodist Church, Rev. Robert Foos officiated. Pallbearers were Bryan Jenkins, Taylor Cox, James Fife, Dane Jenkins, Justin Tehee and Zack Kingfisher. Honorary pallbearers were Beth Lane, Jennifer Leyva, Chrystal Pramberg, Amanda Jenkins, Mattie LeMay, Jamie Dukes and Amy Jenkins.

Funeral Service is under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
