Services for Thurman Leo Rinehart, 85, of Allen were 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 24 th , at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada, Sister Omega Carson officiated. Burial followed at Allen Cemetery.

Thurman passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at his home in Allen after a battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born January 23, 1936 at Calvin, Oklahoma to Lois Joel and Zu Ella Collins Rinehart.

Thurman sold American General Insurance for 20 years. He owned and operated Rinehart Realty in Ada from 1981 until 2016 and was active with the Ada Area Board of Realtors for many years. Thurman’s favorite past time was singing and playing music with family and friends. He was inducted in to the Gospel Blue Grass Music Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; a son, Rickey Rinehart and wife Beverly, Ada; daughters, Sherry Whitaker and husband Robert and Denise Barber and husband Kevin, all of Edmond; stepson, Larry Lee, Allen; step-daughter, Sharon Fitzgerald, Ada; his grandchildren, Angelia Clark and husband Shannon, Choctaw, Candace Phillips, Oklahoma City, Trapper Wilson and wife Macy, Edmond, Logan Rinehart and wife Natoya, Tulsa and Taylor Rinehart, Ada; stepgrandchildren, Colton Browning, Texas, Trucker Lee, Kansas, Chism Lee, Ada, Chris Alford, Ada and Kim, Sulphur; his great-grandchildren, Tess and Harris Wilson, Edmond, Nathan Rinehart, Tulsa, Sean Whitaker and Daniel Prieto, Oklahoma City, Ben Barber, Edmond, and Dacoda Clark and wife Bridgett ; a great-great-grandson, Hendrix Prieto, Oklahoma City; one brother, Wesley and wife Peggy Rinehart, Allen; and two sisters, Linda Kay Knighten and husband Jearl, and Deonna Griffin and husband Bill, all of Allen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dean Rinehart and Lesley Rinehart; sister, Norma Jean Milne; and granddaughter, Crystal Wilson.

Bearers were his grandsons.
