Rites Saturday for Ruth Raney

Virginia Ruth Raney passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 in her daughter’s arms in Anchorage, Alaska at the age of 85.

Virginia was born March 21, 1934 in Ada, Oklahoma to Arthur Mormon Raney and Thelma Pample Smyth Raney. Virginia graduated from the Calvin public schools. She was a caregiver for many years. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church until it closed and then become a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Her passion was riding her Harley up to the age of 78. Virginia loved working on the farm, mowing and taking care of the land. She was known to help anyone in need and lived life to the fullest!

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, brother Mitchel Raney and sister Betty Jean Clay.

She is survived by her children, son Mike Troup and wife Sarah of Calvin, Oklahoma, daughter Mary Troup of Anchorage, Alaska, son Mark Troup and wife Joy of Monett, Missouri, and son Todd Collard and wife Candi of Calvin, Oklahoma; grandchildren Chris, Christina, Dustin, Jessica, Travis Troup,Tessa Mayo, Candis Bishop, Elizabeth Whittington, Marcus, Marty, Derek and Wyatt Troup, Brittany Mullins, and Chelsea, Clyde, and Carley Collard; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister Wanda Blankenship; brother Don Raney; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Saturday, April 13th , at the Calvin Auditorium, Calvin, Oklahoma with Pastor Jim Lawrence officiating. Dinner will be 4:15 PM at the Freewill Baptist Church.

Pallbearers are Travis Troup, Austin Troup, Dylan Yockey, Marcus Troup, Marty Troup and William Tarlton. Honorary pallbearers are Chris, Troup, Avery Troup, Jimmy Ayers, Garrett Martin, Cody Whittington, Bryson Troup, Layne Collard, Liam Collard, Derek Troup, Wyatt Troup, Dustin Troup and Ahrian Troup.

Interment will follow at the Calvin Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Holdenville, Oklahoma.
