Rites held for Roy Snider

Graveside services for Roy DeWayne Snider, 74, of Allen were 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 13th, at the Allen Cemetery. Rev. Bill Liggett officiated.

Mr. Snider passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023, at his home. He was born July 10, 1948, in Allen, Oklahoma, to John Edward and Ethel Bernice (Peters) Snider.

He married Paula Sue (Hogue) Snider, June 23, 1967. They met at the Allen Theater and had their first date on January 10, 1965, never looking back from their 55 years of marriage. During high school he was an outstanding catcher for his beloved Gerty Blue Devils and graduated President of his 1967 class. Roy was a mechanic and truck driver by trade receiving several safe driver awards while working for J.B. Hunt He loved his infamous shop building where he repaired everything from toys to tractors and visiting with all his friends who dropped by to discuss strategy for the day (gossip).

Mr. Snider is survived by his wife, of the home; one daughter, Mendy Ann Koscinski and husband Chris of Norman; one brother, Edward Leon Snider and wife Betty of Ada; one sister Linda Sue Willard of Ada; sister-in-law Barbara Snider of Ada; four grandchildren Landon David Yockey and Shelby Burleson of Oklahoma City; Mallarey Suzanne Yockey of Midwest City, Makella Dawn Yockey and Randy Armstrong of Ada; Stephanie Koscinski of Millington, Tennessee; and one greatgranddaughter and his best buddy, Nirvana Ray Armstrong of Ada.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Harold Franklin and Rickey Louis.

Bearers were his nephews and greatnephews; FBC Allen Men’s Sunday School Class; Tim Robertson; Larry Yockey; Skeeter Hogue and Terry Hogue.

After the service, there was a slide show and meal at the FBC Family Life Center for family and friends.
