Born April 22, 1934 in Atwood, Oklahoma to Orbra and Mildred (Langley) Wilbanks, Colena Lee (Wilbanks) Huffstutlar passed into glory on July 1, 2020. She married the love of her life, Don Huffstutlar, on February 22, 1953 at McAlester, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Don; grandson Eric Conklin; her parents and brothers Glen (Doris) Wilbanks and Derrell Wilbanks.

She is survived by children Rick (Tammy) Huffstutlar of Hydro, Oklahoma, Bruce (Paula) Huffstutlar of Oklahoma City, Denise (Mickey) Conklin of Norman, and Teresa (Craig) Hilburn of St. Peters, Missouri; and grandchildren Kris (JT) Hawk, Amanda (Danny) Bigler, Patrisha (Chris) Wright, Nacona (Neesa) Smith, Darci (Justin) Hendon, Marissa (Patrick) O’Connor, Brandon (Ashley) Conklin, Joshua (Susan) Conklin, Matthew (Lillie) Conklin, Alyssa Hilburn, Garrett (Christine) Hilburn, and Cullen (Taylor) Hilburn. She also leaves 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Colena faithfully served at Southern Oaks Free Will Baptist Church in Oklahoma City for many years as Sunday School teacher, nursery worker, women’s auxiliary member and officer. She founded the Day Care Center at Southern Oaks and worked as its director for 15 years. Later in life, when she moved back to Atwood, she served at Richmond Avenue Free Will Baptist as church treasurer and nursery teacher. She was a member of and served as an officer of the Allen Association for Family & Community Education and the Hughes County Extension Homemakers. She and Don shared a gift of hospitality and welcomed many people into their home for a meal or overnight stay over the years.

Colena loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her family, working with and teaching children about Jesus, gardening, cooking, canning, sewing, quilting and working in her flower beds.

Services were at Richmond Avenue Free Will Baptist Church in Allen on Monday, July 6 th , at 1:00 PM with Pastor Buddy Drake officiating.

Pallbearers were Kris Hawk, Brandon Conklin, Josh Conklin, Matthew Conklin, Garrett Hilburn, and Cullen Hilburn. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Bigler, Chris Wright, Nacona Smith, Justin Hendon and Patrick O’Connor.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
