Rites held for Billie Barnes

Services for Billie Jo Barnes, 97, of Ada were 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27th , at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. David Gray and Don Sayre officiated. Burial followed at Allen Cemetery.

The loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Monday, March 18, 2019. Billie was born September 4, 1921. She was raised and lived in the Ada/Allen area her entire life. Billie had been a seamstress at Black’s Men’s Wear in Ada.

The daughter of Oren Dewey Phillips and Nancy Jane (Gray) Phillips, she was a member Trinity Baptist Church and lived at Ada Baptist Village.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Oren and Janie Phillips; sister, Jewel Collins; and daughter, Pat Luper.

She is survived by daughter, Mary Jo Koehler and son-in-law, Bill Koehler of Agoura Hills, California; granddaughter, Amanda Koehler Williams and her husband Dave Williams; always faithful and caring grandson, Kevin Luper and wife, Lela Luper; great-grandson, Jakob Luper of Ada; and many other family members.

Bearers will be Gary Wayne Hamilton, Bill Koehler, Dave Williams, Kevin Luper, Jakob Luper and Chris Feiler.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the charity of your choice.
