A small vacant home in the 100 block of Baltimore Street, Allen, was destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning.

Join the Allen Masonic Lodge for breakfast Saturday, June 4 , from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m., at the Lodge on West Broadway. The breakfast fundraisers are held the first Saturday of each month with a menu of sausage, biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, hash browns and coffee.

East Central University honored 116 Master’s degree candidates and 371 Bachelor’s degree candidates during graduation ceremonies held on Saturday, May 7 .

The Atwood Nazarene Church will be having Vacation Bible School June 13-17 from 9-11:30. The theme this year is “Monumental-Celebrating God’s Greatness.” There will be Bible stories and songs, crafts, and outdoor games.

Lottie Margaret Atkison was a twin, she and her brother Bill being products of Grandmother’s next to last pregnancy. She became the musician of the family, the only one to stick with the piano until she had mastered it and the one who would branch out to other instruments.

The Atwood School Reunion will be held Saturday, July 2 , from noon until 6:00 pm in the Lowell Wilkerson Community Building (next to the First Baptist Church) in Atwood. Their potluck dinner has been set for 4:30 pm, followed by a brief business meeting.

This year’s Gerty reunion will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the community center. Doors open at 10 a.m. Bring a covered dish and enjoy visiting with everyone.
