Last Saturday, April 1st, was a perfect day for an Easter Egg Hunt and that’s just what happened in the Allen City Park. Excited kids lined up waiting for the word to start, then the race was on to pick up as many plastic eggs as possible to put in their Easter basket.

An Easter Celebration on Ada’s Main Street will take this Saturday, April 1st. The event will be in conjunction with the Grand Opening Celebration of the newly renovated Ada Main Street.

The Allen Masonic Lodge is holding a smoked meat fundraiser. Members will be taking orders for slabs of ribs, smoked bologna, and chicken leg quarters through April 1st.

The advent of both Santa Claus as a Christmas symbol and eggs as an Easter icon can be traced to Christian roots and beliefs. The Easter bunny is a different animal altogether. No connection exists between this endearing children’s character and any element of the Christian faith.
