Hughes County Jail hit with 56 Violations
Hughes County District Attorney, Erik Johnson met with Hughes County officials, including the Sheriff and Commissioners Monday to discuss the future of the Hughes County jail which was hit with 56 violations in the last jail report. As the DA explained, the jail is the county’s biggest liability.

The Allen Vet Clinic’s will be holding a Fall Rabies Clinic on Thursday, April 13th, during regular business hours, 8:00 am to noon and 1:00 to 5:00 pm.

Felony Assaut and Battery with a Deadly Weapon Charges filed
A felony warrant has been issued for Douglas Lee Tatum on charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon. On March 24, 2023, Deputy Keith Wardlow and Undersheriff Trevor Teague responded to a distress call at 7460 East 147 Road in Allen, Oklahoma.
Allen Junior Kelsey Hurt Chosen for trip to D.C.
Allen High School junior Kelsey Hurt is one of three area students chosen as a delegate to the annual Washington D.C. Youth Tour. This all-expense leadership experience is coordinated by the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives and sponsored by PEC.
