Town officials and representatives from various organizations were on hand Wednesday, June 21st, to dedicate the site of a new community building in Francis, Oklahoma. Ground will be broken this upcoming week for the 50x30 building; completion is expected before the year’s end.

Allen will celebrate Independence on Saturday, July 8th!

The Calvin 4th of July Association is excited for all the great family friendly fun planned this year! New this year is Yankee Doodle Land which will be located on the property of Calvin’s historical Methodist Church.

The annual Atwood Alumni Reunion has been set for Saturday, July 1st. The doors of the Atwood Community Building will open at 11:00 a.m. The potluck meal will be served at 5:00 p.m.

The annual Gerty Reunion will be held Saturday, June 24th. All classmates, teachers, friends and neighbors are invited. Doors of the Community Building will open at 10:00 a.m. Bring a covered dish and come enjoy a day of reminiscing.

The Allen City Council has accepted Randy Lee Minyard to serve as the local Chief of Police and he assumed the duties this past Monday, June 19th.
