Allen’s graduates of 1983 will celebrate their 40th class reunion with a gathering at the Ada Elks Lodge, 3850 Arlington Street (Hwy 1), Ada, on Friday evening, June 16th. Class members and their guests will gather at 5:30 for dinner and a time to catch up and reminisce.

Summer Reading Program Has Started Wednesday’s 10am to 12pm We are looking forward to seeing all of you in the Library. This year’s theme “ALL TOGETHER NOW” has us all excited and ready to read. We are planning guest readers and programs every Wednesday through July 31st.

Regina Sue Hester, 74 of Holdenville, passed away June 6, 2023. She was born in Holdenville to Leroy Bible and Maxine (Wingo) Bible. Sue worked as an LPN for over 20 years in Hughes County. After retirement she spent her time gardening, watching sci-fi movies and reading.

Memorial services for Sheila Gayle Stell, 50, of Ada are Thursday, June 15th, at 1:00 pm at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center in Ada.

The annual Atwood Alumni Reunion has been set for Saturday, July 1st. The doors of the Atwood Community Building will open at 11:00 a.m. The potluck meal will be served at 5:00 p.m.

State test scores for Allen Public Schools were not good for a majority of students in seventh and eighth grades, as far as math and English is concerned, preliminary test results indicated.
