Week of March 11th

Area youngsters need to get their baskets ready for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. This year’s event, sponsored by the Allen Chamber of Commerce, will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 23rd, in the Allen City Park.

Last Sunday local residents Wayne and Pat Bullard took time to celebrate their birthdays. Wayne turned 89 on February 25th and his Wife Pat turned 85 on March 5th.

The Allen Show Team wrapped up the Pontotoc County Livestock Show Saturday with the Premium Sale! The kids have worked hard throughout the year for this. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported them during the week!

Local voters agreed with the rest of the state and most of the nation as they cast ballots Tuesday in the Primary Presidential Election.

On Sunday, March 3rd, the Hughes County Sheriff’s Office requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to assist with an officer involved shooting in Calvin, Oklahoma.

The Lady Mustang’s historic basketball season came to an end last Thursday to the eventual Class A Champions Seiling.

Guess what time it is??? Scavenger hunt time!!! We are doing things a teeny bit differently this year. We will still be hunting for a “prize” egg (no specific color), however, the grand prize is not in a Golden Egg.

In celebration of 100 Days of Learning the Allen Upper Elementary School students were asked for reasons to live in Allen and to go to Allen Public Schools. Here are 100 reasons given by the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders . . .

Oklahoma voters will go to the polls this coming Tuesday, March 5th, to cast ballots for the 2024 Presidential Preferential Primary. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Remember to bring your photo ID to be eligible to vote.
