Service Thursday for Darla Jean Kelley
Lifelong Konawa resident, Darla Jean Shaw Kelley, entered into eternal rest on June 27, 2026 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She was born October 6, 1955 in Ada to Sanford Shaw and Viola Alma Addington Shaw.
Darla attended Konawa Schools and graduated in 1975. She married Frankie Dean Kelley on December 7, 1977 in Konawa and together they had three sons. They celebrated almost 50 years together before he preceded her in death on March 20, 2026.
Darla was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, playing card games, dice and the infamous WAHOO board game and was known to be a fierce competitor. She also enjoyed crocheting and working puzzle books or coloring pages, watching cooking shows, and listening to country music in her younger adult years.
Darla was preceded in death by her parents, Sanford and Alma Shaw; both sets of grandparents; three sisters: Sandra Shaw, Debra Lynn Shaw Downey, and Carla Sue Shaw Dixon; her husband, Frankie “Dean” Kelley; and one son, Galand Dean Kelley.
Darla is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Frank, and Stacey Kelley of Allen, and James Shaw and Gina Culberson, Ada; nine grandchildren: Krestyn Jarrett, Kimberly Knighten, Airyn Knighten, Leelon Fulsom, Stephen Knighten-Kelley, Lilliana Kelley, Michelle Reeves, and Michaela Shaw, and Gatlin Kelley; five great- grandchildren, Xavier Williams, Leah Williams, Braylen Jarrett, Hunter Jarrett, and Alex Jarret; and many nieces and nephews spanning three generations, and other family and friends.
Those serving as casket bearers will be Jonathon Bounds, D.J. Huckleberry, Bryan Bentley, Edward Heard, Airyn Knighten, and Leelon Fulsom. Honorary casket bearers will be Dewayne Sexton, Gatlin Kelley, Stephen Knighten-Kelley, and D.J. Walls.
Services will be held under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home at the Swearingen Chapel in Konawa, Oklahoma on Thursday, July 2nd, at 2:00 P.M. Drew Isaacs will officiate. Private Burial will follow.
