Shirley Ann Tackett passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Friday, February 18, 2022, at the age of 77 years.

Shirley was the daughter of Richard and Anna (Mitchell) Lawrie, born on December 18, 1944, in Monticello, Indiana, where she was brought up and attended schools. She was married to Gene Tackett in Yeoman, Indiana on June 9, 1961.

They made their home in the Phoenix, Arizona area for more than thirty years, lived for a short time in Stuart, Oklahoma and returned to Phoenix briefly before moving to Lamar, their home since 2014. Shirley loved the outdoors, and some of her favorite things were hunting, camping, fishing, and mule riding. She greatly enjoyed making Thanksgiving dinner with all the trim and goodies. She was employed by Hughes, McDonald-Douglas, and Boeing aircraft companies, and also by K-Mart and Hi-Jolly Gift Shop. She was best known for the time she spent working at the Calvin Nutrition Center.

She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Lawrie.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gene Tackett, of the home; four children, Mickey Tackett of Boise Idaho, Ronnie Tackett of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Brian Tackett of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and Tina Hosford of Taylor, Arizona; four granddaughters and five grandsons; two great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons; her mother, Anna Lawrie of Delphi, Indiana; three sisters, Sandy, Mary, and Bobbie; one brother, Robin; other family members and a host of friends.

Memorial service was held at Fisher Funeral Home-Lillye Chapel on Saturday, February 26, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kurtis Stoll officiating. www. fisherfh.net
