Services held for Norma Whitlock

Norma Jean Whitlock, age 83, departed this life Thursday, September 13, 2018 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born January 20, 1935 in Non, Oklahoma to the late Cleburne Green Pound and Chlorine Howell Pound.

She married Freeman Russell Whitlock on July 11, 1953 in Spaulding, Oklahoma. They made their home in Prague for a number of years and then moved to Seminole. She was a graduate of Spaulding High School, where she played basketball.

Norma worked at Banc First in Prague as a teller. Norma was pianist at church for over 65 years. Norma enjoyed cooking and she always said she made the best potato salad ever. She also enjoyed working word search puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and her family.

Preceding Norma in death are her parents, and one sister Mary Ann McConnell.

Survivors include husband of 65 years, Freeman Whitlock of the home; three daughters, Rhonda Collier and husband Jim of Seminole, Margaret Edgerton and husband Carl of Prague, and Nancy Weyneth and special friend Mike Weyneth of Seminole; fi ve grandchildren, Russell Collier and wife Ginna, Kristi Willis and husband Jason, Kory Collier and wife Brittany, Whitney Sheehy and husband Ryan, and Megan Loving and husband Brian; eleven great-grandchildren; brother Richard Pound and wife Judy of Durant; sister Martha Rhodes and husband Randy of Shawnee; sister-in-law Darla Sisco and husband Roy of Wewoka; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 19th , at Community of Christ Church, Seminole, with Tracey Johnson offi ciating. Honorary pall bearers were Russell Collier, Kory Collier, Jason Willis, Ryan Sheehy, and Brian Loving.
