Service Wednesday for Lloyd Vance

Lloyd Bryant Vance passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Jack C Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 90.

Lloyd was born December 23, 1929 to Perry “Shorty” Alva Vance and Pearl Pauline (Montgomery) Vance. He graduated from Gerty High School where he served as class President. He married Joan Sevilla Baker November 8, 1952 in Yuma, Arizona. Lloyd served his country in the US Marines during the Korean War. He was a self-employed mechanic. Lloyd loved visiting at Wakeley’s and enjoyed taking people to their doctor appointments. He also enjoyed senior citizens, car shows, blue grass music, traveling and visiting family. Lloyd actually visited 47 states and Australia.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, wife Joan, son Holland Perry Vance, sister Leota Vance Miller, and brother Wayne Vance.

He is survived by his children, Katherine Vance of Wewoka, Sevilla Vance Cortassa and husband Paul of McAlester, Kevin Vance of Holdenville, and Letha Vance of Sand Springs; 11 grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren; 6 great-greatgrandchildren; and sister Winnie Mae Vance Yandell of Tulsa. Lloyd is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, December 23 rd , at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Non Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Houston Ware, Henry Vance, David Reyna, Dalton Guess, Manuel Henriquez and Shannon Cathey. Honorary pallbearers are the Holdenville Senior Citizens group and the folks at Wakeley’s.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
