Service Saturday for Karen Bixler

Graveside services for Karen Agatha (Phillips) Bixler are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5th, at the Atwood Cemetery. Steven Bullard will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Allen Chapel.

Karen was born October 26, 1951. She passed from this world July 26, 2023.

Karen married Michael Bixler in 1970 and they had two daughters, Stephanie and Cristina. In her younger years Karen was a hairdresser. When she had her daughters, she was able to be a stay-at-home mom. While raising her daughters she was very active in church and made several trips to Falls Creek to cook. She eventually took a job in the school cafeteria in Allen.

In 1992 the family moved to Davis, Oklahoma. Karen and Mike divorced in 1993 and Karen took a job in the Davis school cafeteria where she worked until her retirement in 2016.

Karen enjoyed having her grandkids in the summers. She would take them to Turner Falls and other fun outings that the kids still talk about to this day.

Karen also made a point to make as many of her grandkids sporting events as possible. She tried to never miss any.
