Service held for Harold Phillips

Harold Elmer Phillips passed away Friday September 20th, 2019 in Holdenville, Oklahoma at home at the age of 93.

Harold was born May 8, 1926 in Atwood, Oklahoma to Elmer Phillips and Alice Bassinger Phillips. Harold graduated from Atwood public school. He was a maintenance foreman at a glass manufacturing in Hayward, California and retired in 1993. Harold served in the Army during WWII and was Honorably discharged. He enjoyed hunting, watching baseball, horse racing, and wildlife TV.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; fi rst wife, Wilma Heathcott Phillips; son Gary Phillips; daughter-in-law Robyn Philips; brothers Alfred Phillips and Kenneth Phillips; and brother-in-law Chris Saya.

He is survived by his wife Betty Phillips of the home; son Mike Phillips of Burneyville, Oklahoma; son Rick Phillips and wife Cathy of Healdton, Oklahoma; daughter Debbie Foran of Wetumka, Oklahoma; son Jeff McCoy and wife Karri of Atwood, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Helen Phillips of Hobbs, New Mexico; sister Wyvonna Saya; brother Gilbert Phillips and wife Suzanne of Healdton, Oklahoma; and by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to Tricia Barker, Brenda and Heather from Faith Hospice, and members of Banner Baptist Church.

Funeral service was 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 25th , at the First Baptist Church in Holdenville with Pastor Ron Chastine offi ciating. Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery. Assisting in the service will be the Chickasaw Honor Guard.

Pallbearers were Larry Wichert, Robert Phillips, Jeff McCoy, Shane Phillips, Adam Foran, and Randy Hollingshead. Honorary pallbearers were James Morrow, Terry Wayne Hardwick, Randy Brown, Rodney Youngblood, and Paul Huff.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Holdenville, Oklahoma.
