Rites held for Alice Sockey Dorrough

Alice Jane (Sockey) Dorrough, 55, of St. Louis, Oklahoma resident, passed away, Wednesday, June 3, 2020 Shawnee, Oklahoma. Alice was born May 1, 1965 in Flint, Michigan to James Byron Sockey, Sr. and Lurlie Ann (Bolen) Sockey. Alice grew up in Allen, Oklahoma and spent the rest of her adult life in St. Louis, Oklahoma. She was a tribal member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.

Alice loved fishing, watching NASCAR, OU football, going to her church, and listening to country music and her husband, Jerry, play his guitar. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She was a retired L.P.N. Nurse.

Alice is survived by her husband Jerry Dorrough of the home, they were married October 9, 2001 in Farmington, Arkansas. She is also survived by two sons Jordy Dorrough and Jerry Jo Ainsworth of Indiana; one daughter Jerica Dorrough of Indiana; one brother Thomas Sockey; and a sister Sandy (Sockey) Farmer of Ada, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; her special nephew Cody Sockey; special niece Nikki Castle; greatnieces Galli Castle and Brailynn Alford; and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives that loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Tad Alford.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 am Monday, June 8 th , at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with burial at Collins Cemetery in St. Louis, Oklahoma. Pastor Kevin and Angla Wehrli officiated at the service. Casket bearers were Cody Sockey, Kevin Lincoln, Quinton Pitts, Isaac Castle, Jimmy Jack Dorrough and Cameron Tebe.

Services were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
