Rites held for Adrian Horton

Adrian Uriah Horton, age 65, an Allen resident, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at Allen, Oklahoma. He was born on July 31, 1954, to Ura Manuel and Helen Viola (Reed) Horton, at Landstuhl Germany.

He attended and graduated from Tupelo Schools in 1972. Adrian proudly served his is country in the United States Army, serving in Desert Storm. Adrian retired from the Army in 1991. After his retirement from the Army, he worked on the pipeline.

Adrian married Kathleen Ann Hartnett on February 14, 2014 at Allen. Adrian was a member of the Chickasaw Warriors Society. He enjoyed painting, drawing and carpentry.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Ann (Hartnett) Horton of Allen; son, Adrian M. Horton of Crescent, Oklahoma; stepchildren Marc Witman Jr. of Union Valley, Stacey Witman of Fort Worth, Texas, and Robert Witman and wife Teresa of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren Benjamin Michael Horton, Hannah Jo Horton, Jackson Uriah Horton, Riley Autum (Horton) Hensley, Kimberley Michelle Witman, Elizabeth Marie Witman, Riley Daniel Witman, and Ryan Michael Visek; brothers Durwin Manuel Horton and wife Leveta of Sulphur; sister, Vicky Janet (Horton) Standridge and husband Jim of Pauls Valley; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dearly loved family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ura Manuel and Helen Viola (Reed) Horton; son Branden Horton; sisters Cynthia Horton-Lancaster and Alecia Horton; and mentor, John Wayne.

Memorial services were held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 14th , at Brown’s Funeral Service, Coalgate, with Bro. Glen Russell officiating. Honorary casket bearers were Adrian M. Horton, Marc Witman Jr., Robert Witman, Brandon Visek, Randy Lovell, Leslie Crowell, and Joe Standridge.
