Cecilia Lewis Passes Away

Cecilia Ann (Sally) Lewis, age 77, was born on October 16, 1943, in Amarillo, Texas to William Walter Henry and Zora Mae Fields Mahan. Cecilia departed this life and ascended to Heaven on Saturday, April 3, 2021.

Although Sally was a resident of Hollis, Oklahoma, she spent the majority of her life and formative years in Quanah, Texas. She married John W. Lewis Jr. (Buddy) on March 14, 1960, in Hardeman county and they shared 47 years of blissful marriage together until his passing in 2008.

Sally served as a cook in several places and was a homemaker as well. She loved Nascar racing and enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents, William and Zora Mae Henry; husband, Buddy; brother, Bill Henry; sister, Bonnie Allen; son, Johnnie Lewis; granddaughter, Shelby Lewis; and two daughters-in-law, Sue and Renda Lewis.

Those remaining to cherish the warm and loving memory of Cecilia include four sons, Wally Lewis (Debbie) of Ada, Cecil (Cathy) of Mangum, Gary (Donna) of Hollis, and Steven (Margie) of Allen five daughters, Katie Smith (Mike) of Wichita Falls, Texas, Kathie Herbert (Jim) of Wichita Falls, Texas, Suzie Kerman of Hollis, Yvonne Finley of Quanah, Texas and Lathell Owens (Tim) of Slaughterville, Oklahoma; one brother, David Mahan of Ada; three sisters, Juanita Myrick of Ada, Nancy Price of Gainsville, Texas and Gladys Williamson of Ada; 56 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and the many others who called her “granny”. She will be missed by all.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Funeral services are under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
