Betty Jo Ellis

Betty Jo Ellis died December 4, 2018 in Van Buren, Arkansas. She was born August 18, 1930 in Carters Camp, Oklahoma to Marion and Lena Pearce.

Her father was a farmer and moved the family to several places in Oklahoma, then to Ada where she met and married Harry C. Ellis for 70 years. They had five children, Corona Jean who married Tommy Patterson, Lena Margarett who married Gerald Crawford, Rose Sharon who married Rick Yates, Harry Joe, and Carrie Joan who married Carl Morrison; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 43 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Corona Patterson of Seminole; both parents, Marion and Lena Pearce of Ada; seven brothers, Stanley Pearce of Washington, Kit Pearce of Ada, Leon Pearce of Ada, Lewis Pearce from Roswell, New Mexico, Sammy Pearce of Ada, Johnny Pearce from Arlington, Texas, and Clifford Pearce, Ada; and two sisters Mary Magaline and Hazel Lenora, both of Ada.

Betty is survived by her husband, Harry C. Ellis of Van Buren, Arkansas; one brother, Bobby Pearce, Ada; three daughters, Lena Crawford, Sharon Yates and Carrie Morrison, all of Van Buren, Arkansas; one son, Harry Joe Ellis of Allen; and many grand and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 10:00 am Saturday, December 8th , at the Criswell Chapel, Ada. Offi ciating were Davey Ellis and Buck Cobley. Pallbearers were Davey Ellis, Buck Cobley, David Johnson, Travis Johnson, Stephen Hall and Tommy Patterson. Honorary bearers were David Morrison and Gerald Crawford.
