The Allen Chamber of Commerce has begun their 2021 Membership Drive. Community members will be contacted by membership chairmen Charles and Betty Speir to pay dues and renew memberships for 2021. New members are always welcome.

East Central University is recognizing students for their outstanding academic work during the Fall 2020 semester by naming them to the President’s Honor Roll.

Allen Public Schools will be having a special election on February 9 . The special election will be asking the public to approve a $420,000.00 transportation bond.

The Allen Mustangs and Lady Mustangs will be taking the home court twice next week, facing the Kiowa Cowboys on Tuesday, girls at 6:30 with the boys to follow, and the Vanoss Wolves on Saturday, starting tipoff at 4:00.

The State Department of Health announced the launch of an online registration portal to help Oklahomans determine when they are eligible to receive the vaccine and how to schedule an appointment when it is their turn. The registration portal will be functional Thursday, Jan. 7 for all Oklahomans.

The Allen Quick Pic changed owners recently when the paperwork was signed transferring the business from Dianne Hodo to Sammy and Paula Pilant. The new owners have returned to their hometown roots after retiring in Texas.

The December distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from October business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically.
