Congratulations to the Allen Lady Mustangs for their championship win at the North Rock Creek Tournament.

Candidates for municipal office in Pontotoc County may file Declarations of Candidacy from Monday, February 1 , at 8:00 a.m. until Wednesday, February 3 , at 5:00 p.m. at the Pontotoc County Election Board office, 131 West 13 St, Ada, for the indicated offices:

Maddox Wofford, an Allen High School student and local FCCLA Chapter President, has made it to the final round of voting for the 2021-2022 state officer team of the Oklahoma CareerTech Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) student organization.

Voters in the Allen School District will have a decision to make on Tuesday, February 9 , whether to approve or deny the proposed transportation bond issue.

Debbie Ward, president of Farmers State Bank, presented the Allen Volunteer Fire Department with a donation from the bank to help with expenses. “We appreciate the work and sacrifices our firefighters make on behalf of the town.”

Due to the current health concerns, the Allen Chamber of Commerce has made the decision to cancel their annual banquet this year. Usually held in February, there will be no banquet this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Allen Public Schools has been notified of a gas leak on their campus. Students were able to finish out Wednesday safely, but all of our schools will be distance learning today, Thursday, January 21 .
