A Saturday afternoon noodling trip to the South Canadian River for two local residents ended with one dead and his companion placed into the Pontotoc County Detention Center, charged with First Degree Murder.

The July meeting of the Town of Allen was held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5 . Members present were Delwayne Johnson, Dianna Brannan, Rhonda Skelton and April Whitehead. Also attending were Police Chief Brett Edens, City Manager Doug Stinson and City Clerk Kala Stephens.
