Jonathan Walden, Allen’s agricultural teacher and FFA advisor, was recognized Wednesday morning, November 30th, at the National Association of Agricultural Educator in Las Vegas, Nevada. Walden received a 2022 NAAE Outstanding Teacher Award.

This year the Allen Mustang bands will bring the Polar Express’ magic and excitement to our town. Students have been hard at work to a little Christmas cheer to you and the rest of the community with their Merry Mustang Express Concert.
Allen Elementary students, grades three through five, showed their appreciation for veterans this year in a special way. They participated in a fundraiser in which they raised money to purchase veterans a new hat with the military emblem they served in.
Once again the Allen Chamber of Commerce will be holding their “Shop at Home” Christmas campaign. Each time you make a purchase of $5 or more at an Allen chamber member’s business you will receive a ticket and be entered in a drawing.
Area children need to start making their lists to be ready when Santa visits in downtown Allen on Saturday, December 17th. Since there won’t be snow for the reindeer to pull the sleigh, the Jolly Ole Man will arrive by fire truck at 2:00 p.m.
