The Allen Masonic Lodge will be hosting a benefit raffle of an AR-15 Rifle. All proceeds will be donated to John Linebarger as he battles cancer.

Allen Public Schools is reintroducing cross country as a sport this year Coach Bryen will be heading up this restart. We are offering this to anybody 5th-12th grade. Cross country starts July 15 8-9 a.m., races don’t start until the school year starts and the season ends sometime in October.

The Allen Board of Education voted Thursday to accept the lowest bid for the $930,000 general obligation building bonds of the school district.

Join the Allen Masonic Lodge for breakfast Saturday, July 6th, from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m., at the Lodge on West Broadway. The breakfast fundraisers are held the first Saturday of each month with a menu of sausage, biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, hash browns and coffee.

Saturday evening - Downtown Allen and the Allen Park will be the place to be for our Annual Freedom Celebration. The weatherman has promised a little cooler weather for the day and we will take advantage of it. The parade will start at 5:00.

Allen’s 2024 Independence Day Parade Marshals are well known to most area residents. Selected for the honor were Wayne and Pat Bullard.

The 18th annual Allen Academic Awards Program was held Thursday evening, May 9th, in the school auditorium. Students in grades 9-12 were recognized for their academic achievements and scholarly accomplishments.
