Allen’s 2024 Independence Day Parade Marshals are well known to most area residents. Selected for the honor were Wayne and Pat Bullard.

The couple has been married for 65 years and will reach their 66th anniversary, July 19th.

Pat graduated from Stonewall High School as the Valedictorian of her class. She was Wayne’s right hand managing Bullard Drug Store until they both retired. All four of their children and two of their grandchildren have graduated from Allen High. Pat is famous for “Pat’s Potato Casserole” and makes some of the best food ever cooked in our town. She has been an active member of the Allen First Baptist Church for decades teaching Sunday School, sponsoring the youth on mission trips, and served as the church clerk. She balanced all facets of her life like it was a piece of cake. She is genuinely one of the best persons you will ever meet and is a true example of what a Christian is. She will do anything for anyone never expecting anything in return.

Wayne is also a graduate of Stonewall High School. After spending time in the Navy and Pharmacy School, he began his career in Norman eventually choosing Allen to raise his family. He has also been active in Allen First Baptist serving as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and even, as a last resort, fill-in song leader and pianist.

Together they have always made sure family is a high priority taking many cross-country trips in an Idle Time over the cab camper in the bed of his pickup. Some of their best memories were lake trips and it is said that they both were known for water skiing and managed to teach all of their kids to ski. He is well-known for his stories and making sure the neighborhood kids had a clear driveway to ride their bike and scooters on — yes, he made his own kids move their cars out of the driveway to clear the way. Like Pat, he is genuine and has always taken care of the needs of others before himself.

The Bullards have been strong supporters of Allen Schools and the Allen Community and a perfect choice for Parade Marshals.
