by Steve Bullard Sometimes things go wrong. And sometimes they go really, really wrong. That more or less sums up the 3rd quarter for the Allen Mustangs Friday night at Mustang Field.
Grades 1–3 The Allen Outlaws will face the Chicken Jockeys at 10:00 a.m. The winner of that matchup will move on to play the Atwood Cowboys in the championship game. Grades 4–6 The Allen Outlaws will take on the Allen Stampedes in the championship game.
Softball Senior Night 2025 honored two seniors who have been very involved in the Lady Mustangs’ softball program. These young ladies have not only contributed to this program but many other activities in Allen Schools.
The Lady Mustangs put together a strong all-around performance Thursday night, shutting out Holdenville 5-0 behind the arm of pitcher Cobi Frederick. Frederick was nearly untouchable in the circle, keeping Holdenville off the board for seven innings to secure the complete- game shutout.
Stratford did punch it in one more time in the first half, but they don’t have Allen’s kicker, so they trailed 1413. Then, just before halftime, Allen was looking to close the half with a touchdown. And they did, mostly.
The Allen Mustangs picked up their first win of the season and of the Reade Box era Friday night as they pounded the visiting Stratford Bulldogs, 35-13. After a potential win slipped away last week, it was great to hit the win column in week two.
The Lady Mustangs will honor their two seniors, Addison Prentice and Cherish Woodward, before tonight’s game (Thursday), following the junior high contest. The junior high game begins at 4:30 p.m., with senior recognition scheduled for approximately 5:30 p.m.
by Steve Bullard The Mustangs were excited to finally get their season underway in week 1 last Friday night, September 5th, in Tishomingo. And after playing extremely well for most of the game, and leading for a good portion as well, the Mustangs fell to the much bigger Indians in overtime, 36-34.
The Allen Varsity Mustangs rolled past Crowder 16-3 on Tuesday. Crowder struck first in the top of the opening inning, pushing across three runs after #0 drew a walk and #16 stole home.
