The last home game of the season found both Allen teams in the district finals. The Allen girls had an off night falling 50-31 and the Allen men outgunned Crowder 69-41. The season continues at Quinton, the site of the Regional Tournament.

After executive session at its regular meeting Monday, the Allen Board of Education rehired several members of Allen Schools’ administrators and faculty.

It’s a wrap on the regular season and both the Lady Mustangs and Mustangs start their playoff march on Saturday night. They will face the winner of the Quinton / Crowder games that will be played in Allen court on Friday night.

The current rankings came out and The Allen men sit at #7 in Class A, while the Lady Mustangs came it a #13. With District parings coming out Friday, we are excited we cracked the top 7, maybe we can separate ourselves from the other top teams and get in a good Area where we can see some new teams.

Five Lady Mustangs and five members of the Mustang men’s basketball teams will be recognized Tuesday evening, January 31st, in pre-game Senior Night festivities. The 5:45 p.m. ceremony will precede the Allen/Latta game. Girls will tip-off at 6:30.

The Allen Academic Team will be competing in the State Tournament on Saturday, January 28th, at Rose State College.

Stoney Cully was named to the All-Tournament team last week in Stringtown

The Mustangs teams started the new year with a bang as they both brought home the Championship trophy from the Stringtown Shootout last week.
