No place like home I always say and for sure Allen is my home. I think mom felt that real strong for Allen on one “bad” day in 1938. The day we moved to Centrahoma. The old house dad had rented was in horrible shape.

This past Monday I found myself attending the funeral of my good friend, Linda Spain. Linda was a very successful person. I don’t mean she was wealthy or any of those things we often think about when we speak of a successful person. Linda was good at what she did.

Last December, the Virginia Military Institute removed a big statue of Stonewall Jackson. They are now hiding him in a museum. He was just one of many “celebrities” of the old south to vanish as American tries to change its history. I guess there really isn’t much wrong with the idea of change.
