It’s time for the Annual Golden Egg Scavenger Hunt. Each week we will publish clues to the prize egg.

Area youngsters need to get their baskets ready for Allen’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. This year’s event, sponsored by the Allen Chamber of Commerce, will be held on Saturday, April 12th, in the Allen City Park. Rain date for the Egg Hunt will be Saturday, April 19th.

Join the Allen Masonic Lodge for breakfast Saturday, April 5th, from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m., at the Lodge on West Broadway. The menu is sausage, biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, hash browns and coffee.

A close race in the Allen School Board election Tuesday had Calem Woodward defeating incumbent Ron Batey 86-84. The two Pontotoc County boxes were a dead heat with the Allen box Woodward 46 and Batey 39 and in the Happyland precinct Woodward earned 6 votes and Batey had 13.
