By Steve Bullard The Allen Mustang football team found themselves in a tough position Friday night at Mustang Field. After a 4th quarter touchdown and a missed extra point, Allen trailed defending state champion Woodland, 26-25, with 6:33 showing on the clock.

A person who killed two Pontotoc County residents during a crime spree in December 2024 was sentenced Friday to spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Last Saturday, the Allen Cheer Squad traveled to Moore to compete in the Class 2A Game Day Regional. After a great performance, the team waited anxiously for the results — and it was worth it! For the first time in school history, the squad has earned the right to compete at the State Competition!

Allen Schools Elementary School Principal Amy Mayhue has implemented a program this year where teachers can refer students to her office for positive accomplishments. She spoke about it to the Allen Board of Education Monday at its regular meeting.

Applications are being taken for names to be placed on the 2025 Farmers State Bank Angel Tree, now until November 26th. The first 25 children that meet the DHS Snap Program Guidelines will be accepted.

The Mustangs ended their regular season with a bang last Friday night here when they demolished the Gore Pirates, 41-6. The Pirates were physical, but the Mustangs were too much for them in the end.
