It has been said tough times never last but tough people do. The world we knew that practiced capitalism fell apart in 1929. Many liberals world-wide said basically the same thing: “We knew it would happen.” And it appeared for a few years that they might be right.

Whether you miss the “Old Time Conventions” the political parties stage every four years or not, they are gone. Last week’s Democratic gathering was a virtual thing. As a Democrat myself, just let me say it was not a very inspiring event. The speeches were flat and nothing new was said.

My eyes could not believe what they saw. A mob marching down Shartel St. in Oklahoma City — Breaking windows and making demands. The police were escorting them. Protecting their rights to free speech and the marches continue, to this day. Property damage and wanton vandalism everywhere.
