Threads of Life
Old Files
While doing some filing, I opened a box that had been on the shelf for a while and found newspaper copies of things I had written in the 1990s and early 2000s. Well, it was hard to put that box back on the shelf. I wanted to read those articles. They brought back a lot of memories.
Also, there were copies of Kenneth Eck’s columns, newspaper articles of Chamber of Commerce banquets, articles about growing up in Allen, etc.
I am enjoying the cold weather but got a shock when I looked at the flower beds to see all the dead things that were green not that long ago. It got a lot colder a lot sooner this year, but the warm weather will return, like it always does. That means just more yard work as soon as it gets warm enough to work outside.
It is yet early for me to think of it being almost Christmas, and there will be another birthday for me on December 31st . I will be 96 on New Year’s Eve. I have lived a lot in those years. I have published one book and would like to see a book published of my columns. I have clipped a copy of every one of my columns, and they fill a large box. I started writing my column in 1992.
I published a book in 1991 and have sold over 3,400 copies in the United States and in 7 foreign countries. It sold over 200 copies last year. It is the only book of Seminole Patchwork on the market that names the clan design patterns. That is the reason it has continued to sell. The Seminole Nation Museum in Wewoka will be publishing it now.
I published a book, “The Spiritual Stepping Stones of Cleo LeVally”, in 2015 and it sold 200 copies. That was the number I had published. It sold out in that year.
