It wasn’t always pretty but the Allen teams kept the District Championships home with a pair of wins over Verden Saturday.

The Lady Mustangs started cold but warmed up enough to pick up their 21st win of the season 57.28. Addison Prentice and Cherish Woodward each had 13 points, Kaylee Davis was close behind with 12 and Stoney Cully added 6 for the balanced Mustang offense.

The Allen men added to their win total and Greg Mills 21st District Championship with the 54-25 win over Verden. Brayden Tatum scored 18 points, followed by Gus Matthews 14, Keithon Howard 10, Garrett Nix 5, Easton Ledo4 and Sederick Lindsey 3 points.

The Allen gym will host the first round of Regionals with both Allen teams facing Union City Thursday night. Girls will tip at 6 p.m. with the boys game to follow.

A win will give the teams a days rest and finish the rest of the tournament in Union City. Come fill the stands and send the teams off with a win. The Union City girls own a 18-9 record and the boys team have 18 wins against 8 losses.
