Melanie Merriman extends a warm invitation to the Allen area communities to join her this Saturday for the Grand Opening of her new boutique Southern Glow. The boutique, which features t-shirts, jeans, dresses and accessories, is located on the main street of Allen at the intersection of Easton and Broadway.

The Grand Opening will be held from 10:00 am to 3:00 p.m. Plans are for a bounce house, cornhole tournament, the mechanical bull, a LV wallet giveaway and so much more. The Road Kings Mobile Grill and Frozen Sweets & Treats will be on hand to take care of the lunch crowd and there will be karaoke for those wishing to show their talent.

Melanie and her family came to the Allen area from Duncan to be nearer to her grandmother, Velma Keeton of Non. Her husband, Robbi, is employed by HMI in Coalgate and daughter Marlee has begun Pre-K at Allen Elementary; 10-monthold son Micajah will be his mother’s assistant at the store, greeting customers and providing entertainment. Hannah Heck will be available for hair appointments at the store Wednesdays through Saturdays.

Melanie has ideas for adding monthly events and is looking forward to building a life here and becoming part of the Allen community.
